Enhancing Engagement Through Personalised Content
The Challenge
Our analysis revealed that although many users visited the Explore page, they often left quickly due to limited content. This issue significantly affected user retention and engagement.
Solution
To address this, we conducted thorough user testing and gathered customer feedback. Based on these insights and analytics, we decided to completely revamp the Explore page by adding more features and enhancing personalisation.

Design Process
Research
Activities: Conducted extensive data analysis, user testing, and feedback collection to understand user behavior and preferences.
Tools: Surveys, interviews, and analytics tools were used to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Ideation
Activities: Brainstormed various concepts, created user flows, and designed wireframes focusing on engagement and retention.
Tools: Sketching, wireframes by using Sketch software, and collaborative workshops with stakeholders.
Prototyping and Testing
Activities: Developed high-fidelity prototypes to test new features and design elements.
Tools: InVision and Sketch for creating interactive prototypes.
Testing Methods: Conducted usability testing sessions with both existing and potential users, using A/B testing to analyse user interactions.
Rollout: We created two versions of the Explore page—one with the existing features and one with the new interactive options and personalized content sections. Users were randomly assigned to one of these versions.
Findings: The A/B testing revealed that users interacting with the enhanced version spent significantly more time on the Explore page, engaged more frequently with content through "Likes," "Save," and "Share" features, and participated in quizzes. Feedback from usability sessions highlighted the appeal of personalized content and the variety of interactive options.
Decision: Based on these insights, we decided to move forward with the enhanced Explore page. The positive feedback and increased engagement metrics validated our approach to personalisation and interactive content.
Visual UI Design

Color Scheme: Utilized a green and neutral color palette to align with the sustainability theme and create a calm, inviting atmosphere.

Imagery: Incorporated high-quality images and icons that visually represent climate-friendly content, making the interface more engaging and informative.
Final Product Design
Personalised Feed: "What's New" vs. "For You"
Feature: Divided the Explore page into "What's New," showcasing the latest content, and "For You," offering personalised recommendations.
Benefit: Enhances user engagement by providing relevant and timely content based on user preferences and interaction history.
Visual Highlight: The "For You" section tailors recommendations to individual users, increasing relevance and retention.
Interactive Features
Feature: Introduced options for "Likes," "Save," "Share," and "Educational Quizzes."
Benefit: Allows users to interact with content in various ways, increasing engagement and retention.
Visual Highlight: Interactive quizzes educate and engage users on sustainable topics, while "Likes," "Save," and "Share" options foster deeper interaction with the content.
Engaging Content Variety
Feature: Added more climate-friendly articles, recipes, life hacks, and product recommendations.
Benefit: Keeps content fresh and relevant, encouraging users to return for new ideas and inspiration.
Visual Highlight: Climate-friendly recipe ideas are prominently featured, with options to save favourite recipes for easy access later.
Save and Share Options
Feature: Users can save their favorite content and share it with friends.
Benefit: Enhances the user experience by allowing easy access to preferred content and promoting community sharing.

Outcome
The implementation of these features resulted in a 30% increase in user retention. The redesigned Explore page, with its enhanced personalisation and interactive options, effectively engages users and keeps them returning for more inspiring and climate-friendly content.
